CONSERVATION
We aim to preserve this area’s rich biodiversity and natural beauty while providing a safe haven for indigenous wildlife. We are privileged to have access to guidance and advice from the WWF, Cape Nature and the Gouritz Cluster Biosphere Reserve.
The Reserve is named after the Aardvark because they are such an important part of our ecosystem. They have an important function as ‘ecosystem diggers’. No other animal in Africa creates as many large underground burrows as the aardvark. When abandoned, these large burrows provide important shelter to many other animals, for raising their young and protecting them from temperature extremes and predators.
