The space was established in recognition of the long relationship between the Karoo landscape and artistic expression, providing a setting in which art, conversation, landscape, and gathering intersect naturally.
Rather than functioning as a conventional gallery alone, Spirit of the Karoo forms part of the wider rhythm of the reserve itself.

The gallery brings together a carefully assembled collection of South African artworks alongside selected works from the owners’ private collection.
